Written by: Lisa Riotto
On February 23rd, employees from the AVS New Jersey team participated in the Polar Plunge at Seaside to raise money for Special Olympics of NJ. What started out as a dare 10 years ago, has turned into a time-honored tradition. Joe, Lisa, and Jonathon helped their team of 12 raise over $6500 and place 51st out of over 425 teams in highest donations.
Special Olympics provides sporting events for both adults and children with disabilities, encourages physical fitness, and promotes acceptance, awareness, and respect. The Polar Plunge is their largest fundraising event and this year raised over $2,000,000. The money raised will go towards programs and events for over 25,000 participants.
Joe, Lisa, Jonathon and their other team members would like to thank everyone for their generous and thoughtful donations.
